Why A Cruise Is Such A Great Value, What’s Included & what’s not

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Cruising is about nothing if it’s not about having choices: sleeping in from a late night disco party or savoring a cup of latte as the sun rises over your balcony; dressing up for a formal night or lacing up for a run around an inline skating track. And every cruise line out there is competing for your attention, doing everything thing they can to lure you onboard. You can have the vacation of a lifetime, see the world, completely unwind, take a walk on the wild side, dance the night away, feast on fabulous cuisine, learn something new, make friends, bond with your family, and steal quiet moments with your spouse. Whatever your heart desires, is yours, when you choose to cruise. Cruising offers the best travel buy you can get for your money. It includes your meals, your cabin, you’re out onboard activities, nighttime parties and all sponsored entertainment. Each ship is a complete resort and destination unto itself. Cruise ships and holidays are a natural match: Both are in the good-times business. And when you sail during the holiday season you get the fun of built-in parties and feast-quality meals plus someone else to cook them, someone else to do the decorating and entertaining, and someone else to clean up the mess afterward. The only thing they don’t do is written out your Christmas cards. A cruise vacation removes 90% of the hassle of a land-based vacation. Your ship is your floating hotel, restaurant, resort, nightclub, tour office, and health club. You spend time enjoying your vacation, not waiting in hotel or rental car check-in lines. On a traditional Vacation, the Family is pretty much stuck together, on a Cruise they are not. Each individual can pursue his or her interests and rejoin the Family at some prearranged time. Cruising is wonderful for Family Reunions because there is something for each generation to enjoy. Expect to be pampered, massaged, and stuffed with culinary delights. Expect your imagination to wander, thinking of the ships of old. Expect to feel incredibly relaxed, exhilarated, caressed by sun, sand and wind; expect the unexpected. In short. . . . RELAX and ENJOY! Whether itâ??s a small family of 10 or a large group of 100, a cruise ship may be the best place for a reunion. Family reunion members seek accommodations they can use as a base for dining, sightseeing and socializing together. They want good children’s programs, entertainment and activities. But they also want to make sure everyone in the group has personal time to pursue their own interests. You are generally going to know what the cost of your vacation well be before you go. Your extra costs will be shore excursions, cocktails, spa treatments, beauty shop and casino gambling. You can look at it as a prepaid vacation with extras of your choosing. Knowing what’s included and what’s not included allows you to budget your vacation spending more closely. The cost of your cruise will depend on your choice of accommodations. These accommodations range from an inside Stateroom to a Suite with a Private Balcony overlooking the sea. Each Stateroom includes two twin beds or queen-size bed, bathroom, shower, TV and makeup table/desk. When comparing the price of a cruise vacation versus a land-based holiday, consider that transportation, hotel, meals, entertainment and most activities are included. Even an all-inclusive land resort package can not top that (it doesn’t go anywhere). Cruising is the best way to experience a number of destinations that you may want to revisit for a longer period of time later. Today’s ships offer rock climbing, basketball, video arcades, swimming pools, spas, huge gyms with yoga and spinning classes, an indoor ice-skating rink and, yes, even mini-golf. Remember, you only unpack once, no matter how many ports of call you visit. No checking in, or checking out and no running to make plane connections in order to get the next port. You’ll be sleeping while the ship takes you to a new destination. Fall asleep in one place and awake to a new one and youâ??re already unpacked. All your movies, shows and lounge entertainment are included. You already have a seat at the best restaurant in town. You have many choices for shopping, touring, entertainment and sports activities. Cruise travel is for everyone who wants to have the best possible vacation at the best possible price. Choose to cruise for CUISINE. Tantalize your taste buds with gourmet fare that showcases exotic ingredients, old standbys like pizza and ice cream or spa cuisine for a healthy alternative. Depending on your mood, dine in a traditional ballroom setting, a small bistro or a casual eatery. Carbohydrate Counter Menus are the latest rage among the Cruise Lines. Don’t forget the 24-hour room service, which is also free. Hereâ??s a cruise tip: Choose to cruise for ROMANCE. Secluded beaches, in suite dining on a balcony overlooking the ocean and spa services for two are just some of the romantic pursuits available. In many cruise reviews, cruising routinely earned the highest ratings in customer satisfaction among all vacation categories. When you try cruising for the first time, you will be hooked. The one major complaint the Cruise lines hear over and over again, is that cruises end far too soon! What’s not included in your cruise?Typically those items and services there are of a personal nature are extra. Most alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, the salon services, shore excursions, shipboard gift and sundries purchases, Internet usage, long-distance phone calls, tips, casino gaming and your transportation to and from your cruise, are extra cost.

How to Find Great Deals at the Disney Store

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Secret shoppers are so interesting.   It’s a profession anyone would love to have.   Many girls and women love to shop.   A favorite family stop in the mall is generally the Disney Store.   Whether you are going to Disney Land, Disney World, on a Disney Cruise, or are just having a fun princess or Mickey Mouse party, the Disney store is a fun place to look around and buy interesting things that you don’t see every day at your local discount store or online.

Tough financial times, however, require many stores to lower their prices.   While previously, some guests of the Disney Store found it to be too pricey, things are beginning to change!  This store used to have a bad reputation for high prices, but they often have $5 sales to off set the other bigger items in the store that might cost more.   The best time to shop at the Disney Store is after a season when they are clearance out their old inventory.   The worst time to shop there is Halloween and Christmas when costumes and other items are in high demand.   However, the day after Thanksgiving is the one day when you may find very deep sales and discounts there.   If you have time to stop by, it is always worth it.   Last year they had large stuffed Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Jasmine dolls on sale for $5 each!

Girls favorite items at the Disney Store can range from sleepwear to princess costumes and accessories.   Gracing every wall from ceiling to floor you will find elegant and stunning Ariel and Belle costumes with every stuffed animal and accessory imaginable like wands, tiaras and dress up shoes.   Prices range from $20 to $50 and it is really nice that they have different sizes to fit girls 2T all the way up to 8.   Of course, there’s always the princess dishes and other clothing like t-shirts and shorts.

Many times boys like Mickey Mouse or Cars.   Whether it’s swimming trunks, model cars, or die cast vehicles, your little boy could go crazy in this fun toy store!  Some little boys like to go in and try on the fun costumes for Halloween or just for every day dress up play.  Mickey swim trunks, sunglasses, and matching beach towels are also fun and inexpensive if you find them directly after a season is over.

Don’t leave out the adults!  Many adults like to go to this store in the mall to find adult costumes, accessories, DVD’s and fun collectibles.

Of course, before your family’s next trip to Disney Land, stock up at the Disney Store before you go because once you get there, the prices are astronomical, but it is so fun to dress up as your favorite character like the princesses or Mickey Mouse.   Kmart sometimes has princess and Disney t-shirts and clothes for less expensice prices than the D. Store itself.

As an alternative to the Disney Store costumes, try Little Adventures dresses.   They are a little more simple, but they are machine washable and come in bigger sizes all the way from 2T to adult.   With a fullness slip, they are the perfect dress to pack in the Disneyland suitcase!

2007 is a Great Year for Cheap Cruises

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

First, you have a great opportunity for a cheap cruise by searching the Internet for last minute deals. These are opportunities that are available a few days or weeks before the departure of the vessel. A good time to look for cheap tickets would be 60 days before the tour starts.
This is because cruise lines are not the rule that people can cancel their reservations up to 60 days before departure, without having to pay penalties. This is the right time to jump in and ask for a cheap cruise ticket. The line will be able to tell if there booths in left and we will offer a discount too.
Off-season cruises cheap – If you are looking for a cheap cruise, be prepared to go during the off season as the peak hurricane season in the Caribbean (September to mid November) or just before and after Christmas. These are the days when cruise companies offer cheap fares, because most people avoid these periods. Do not set your hopes on finding a cheap cruise for Christmas or New Year, because the chances are virtually nil. You might be lucky to get a ticket at the last minute, but do not count on it.
For many destinations and cruise lines, the difference between season and shoulder season is worthy of note. A cruise in Alaska, the savings can reach 50%, leaving a week after the season! If you want to travel in high season, plan ahead. Many companies offer cheap tickets first. So search the Internet or visit your travel agent for the latest cheap cruise deals.
Money Saving Tips Cruise – After embarking on a cruise, in order to maintain the price, do not register for shore excursions. If you are at least 4 people, it is easy to hire a guide that will show you the highlights of this cruise. Opting for repositioning cruises. These discounts are offered more often because the cruise lines change the itinerary of the cruise. These cruises are usually longer – 2 weeks instead of one, but offers great value for little money. These repositioning cruises usually have drawbacks exist for passengers, such as having to fly to the starting point of the cruise, so some of them cancel reservations.
Another good suggestion for a cheap cruise: Search repositioning eleventh hours, the price of these cruises will be very low. If you want to navigate by themselves, ask for a type of piece. That means you have a cabin mate of the same sex in order to avoid paying the addition of a single room supplement for your money.
Be very careful when choosing a cruise for less! If you are claustrophobic, be sure to avoid an inside cabin. Read all the conditions specified in the offer, you may have to buy tickets and, in order to reach the starting line of the cruise, and could cost more discount. Unfortunately, most of the time, offers cheap cruise does not confer the right to choose the type of cabin you want. You might end up having to pay for a cabin with balcony, which is also more expensive discounts than a normal taxi. Pay attention to fees and additional taxes, such as port charges, government taxes, etc.
Included in the price of the cruise? Otherwise, see what they are and if this deal is a deal really. Try to follow some of the suggestions above, and probably find the cheap cruises for your vacation. Good luck!

Cooking Christmas Dinner – Great Ideas To Make It Memorable

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

No matter where you live in the world, if you are celebrating the festival of Christmas then you will know that most important part of Christmas day is the traditional Christmas Dinner. This is a focal point to the day and something that the kids and adults alike really look forward to. For many of us living in affluent societies the prospect of Christmas Dinner is anticipated with relish. The Christmas Dinner which is one meal that is prepared with much love and care. On Christmas Day we have the opportunity to feast on treats that are not only reserved solely for this occasion, but uphold our cultural traditions.
While adhering to our own traditions you may like to incorporate a few different ones from other parts of the globe. For instance, in some Mediterranean countries, in particular parts of Italy, where the population is predominantly Catholic, only fish is eaten on Christmas Eve. This is a religious tradition but is certainly one that many of us would enjoy, and a great alternative to much heavier meals. However, there are so many different Christmas specialities to choose from and they can Whatever type of fare you prefer fo Christmas dinner it should be prepared in the spirit of Christmas, and to remember it is a time for sharing and being with those close to you. Find something that really appeals to you and your family and you will enjoy creating your own tradition!
If you are trying to change your normal Christmas dinner then ideas can be borrowed from anywhere in the world. For instance, in some countries, such as Germany, preparation for Christmas dinner is serious business, and the dishes are plentiful and varied. Christmas Eve takes precedence over Christmas day in Germany and that is the time when the main Christmas dinner is enjoyed. A traditional German Christmas is quite sumptuous and the preferred poultry for the meal is usually Goose. The accompaniments differ somewhat also. Red cabbage is a favourite choice! Ideally choose recipes from any type of cuisine that suits your palate. It doesn’t matter if the Christmas dinner is somewhat eclectic it will add to the enjoyment. If you prepare as many of the dishes in advance you will be able to participate in all the other Christmas activities.
There are many similarities in traditional Christmas dinner menus. However, it is interesting to note that there are subtle differences that make each country’s Christmas dinner unique to them. For example, in Great Britain traditional Christmas dinner fare would not be complete without Brussel sprouts! Christmas crackers are also an absolute must for a traditional English Christmas dinner. For the uninitiated the Christmas cracker is usually filled with a joke, a paper hat and a small trinket. Two guests take either end of the cracker and pull. This results in a popping sound and the winner is the one who ends up with the larger portion of the cracker and takes posession of the trophies that are contained within.
Americans need not look too far for inspiration for Christmas dinner ideas. South American and bordering countries offer choices of exciting and spicey cuisine and are fun to share, and are already firm favourites. Preparing Christmas dinner shouldn’t be a chore but a labour of love and something your friends and family will associate with fun and affection.
When making your Christmas dinner menu choices be realistic in what you can achieve and don’t put additional pressure on yourself by attempting to create a time consuming masterpiece. Try preparing dishes that your are already familiar with even those that are not normally eaten during this Christian festival. If your particular forte is the art of cooking from the Far East then make that part or all of your menu. The most important thing is to take pleasure from the preparation of the Christmas dinner, and the pleasure it will give to you to share this feast with those you treasure most.
