Where can I find a place to spend Christimas?

Monday, March 1st, 2010

We are a three-family member living in the US who wants to spend Christmas Eve and Day somewhere outside our condo. Since our parents live overseas, I wonder if there is any Christmas cruise or place to visit during those specific days.
Disney is not on our plans since have just been there. Vegas sounds the best option. Hopefully everything is open at midnight (latino tradition).

Good, you must have decided to work onboard a cruise ship, when you have reached here! Let me guide you further with my experience, here are the few important things you have to know. A career onboard a cruise ship can offer a wide range of job opportunities for you. It can be financially attractive and enable you to travel to exotic ports all around the world in a job you will enjoy. However, finding a job on a cruise ship requires many research, time, and the right qualifications to get you the right cruise ship job that suit you. There are three most important things that you must have:1. ENGLISH LANGUAGEIt is very important that you can speak & understand English as most cruise ships cater to Americans and English-speaking travelers. Especially if you work in the front line divisions like Food & Beverage, and Cabin stewards in Hotel, you actually get PAID from the guests directly. 2. PASSPORTYes, passport is the most important travelling document in cruise ship employment; all the personnel working onboard a cruise ship must have a valid passport. 3. SEAMAN VISA (For all non-US residents)Once you obtain an Employee Agreement with a cruise ship company, you will need to apply for C1 Transit & D1 Seaman and B2 Visitor Visa from the United States Embassy. Most cruise ships do visit United State Of America’s ports of call.

Major cruise lines like Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises are based in Florida, USA; hence, the majority of worldwide cruises will depart from Florida or a port in the USA. These C1 & D1 and B2 visas allow you to enter the USA for a limited time only when your ship calls to a US port, usually 30 days :

How To Find A Cheap Holiday Cruise

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Because of the tough competition it has become very easy to find a cheap holiday cruise these days. Some might say that it has even become too easy. The term cheap holiday cruises has almost lost its meaning because cheap holiday cruises has become the standard.
In recent years companies have invested in bigger and better cruise ships which has led to cheaper prices for people going on cheap holiday cruises.
Finding Cheap Cruises
However there are still some things that you should be aware of in order to find the cheapest holiday cruises possible.
First of all beware that the best time of the year to be looking for a cheap holiday cruise is the second half.
You want to stay flexible and wait until November-December before booking your cheap holiday cruise. This will be a great way for you to save a lot of money.
With all of the online booking facilities available the competition in the travel market is very rough. This also holds true for cruise lines. They are simply looking for ways to fill their cabins before the ship leave port.
At the end of the year you should be on the lookout for what is termed as closeout deals. Around this time of the year you will be able to make substantial savings.
A closeout deal is basically termed this way because the end of the year is coming and a lot of cruises are scheduled to leave from ports all around the world. Therefore cruise lines are searching for ways to outsell their cabins.
Especially in the northern hemisphere this is the case with the Christmas holidays arriving and therefore most people want to stay at home with their family and friends. Cabins are therefore easily available.
Where to look for closeout deals
A good and easy way to find closeout deals is to pick up the phone and call the cruise lines. Another good way to find cheap holiday cruises is to head down to your local travel agent or make a search for cheap holiday cruises using the internet or simply Go to the websites of the cruise lines and find out what they have to offer you.
A great way to almost ensure that you will pick up a cheap holiday cruise is to make a visit at your local travel agency during the beginning of the year and let them know what you are after and how much you are willing to pay for a cheap holiday cruise.
another excellent source of cheap closeout holiday deals are the online booking sites. A lot of these sites offer a way for you to receive an email when the right offer shows up. A lot of the cheap holiday deal websites have weekly newsletters you will be able to join for free. The only thing you need to make sure is that you in fact read these newsletters in order for you to find out which sites offer the best cheap holiday deals. This will let you stand a better chance of actually getting a cheap holiday cruise deal when the time arrives.

Where can I find gold Christmas Ornaments?

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

When I went on a cruise and when I was in Alaska, there were lots of beautiful Christmas ornaments that are flat with shapes cut out of them. The shapes are hooked together and resemble a 3-D object when finished. They were about $3.50 (that is the overpriced tourist price) each. I would love to find more, but I dont know where to look online. Any ideas?

You Can Find the Best Last Minute Cruise – Get Cheap Cruises

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

For many years the concept of an agreement for a last-minute cruise is that it's been a great spring and maybe the experience of cruising the night before the ship sailed and they gave him a good deal. These situations can not happen because since the 9/11/2001 cruise must complete passenger list from 24 to 48 hours before departure. Do not be discouraged by the new provisions with special offers for you, because they are still available. In the new world of cruise planning a trip 6 months in advance is considered short-term planning.

Find the Best: Discount Cruise

When you are looking for a cruise to negotiate a chic place to start your search is to analyze the cruise on various websites and see what deals they offer, because many of these deals that are posted on websites. If you are not surprised by these prices the next step should be to get a discount travel sites like Expedia, Orbitz, zoo trips and cruises last minute, because many times these sites offer specials.

Great Advice about: Cheap Cruises

Time for the replacement of this cruise can be a good idea, because when a boat sails had to change locations offer good price, but keep in mind to buy reasonably priced house to flee the ship were left was not to return to the original starting point.

Do not think that by taking a cruise during the holiday periods like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. Also Spring Break and Easter are not good or time.

Many cruise lines sailing the Caribbean offer great incentive fees if booking during hurricane season, but be prepared for your trip is canceled or postponed.

The best time to find a really good price is to check 60 days in advance on the Internet. Go to the willingness of many places, because you can be lucky to get a cruise canceled earlier trips planned and these are usually offered at a lower price.

Upon completion of your cruise reservation, there are some things you need to check so no surprises. Make sure the rate you were quoted was for a single or double. Check what kind of car you purchased and see if airfare is included because sometimes what might be a good deal on a cruise can be expensive.

A last minute cruise may not be what we used to think he meant, but there are still plenty of cheap cruises and remember people are cruising than ever.

How to Find Great Deals at the Disney Store

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Secret shoppers are so interesting.   It’s a profession anyone would love to have.   Many girls and women love to shop.   A favorite family stop in the mall is generally the Disney Store.   Whether you are going to Disney Land, Disney World, on a Disney Cruise, or are just having a fun princess or Mickey Mouse party, the Disney store is a fun place to look around and buy interesting things that you don’t see every day at your local discount store or online.

Tough financial times, however, require many stores to lower their prices.   While previously, some guests of the Disney Store found it to be too pricey, things are beginning to change!  This store used to have a bad reputation for high prices, but they often have $5 sales to off set the other bigger items in the store that might cost more.   The best time to shop at the Disney Store is after a season when they are clearance out their old inventory.   The worst time to shop there is Halloween and Christmas when costumes and other items are in high demand.   However, the day after Thanksgiving is the one day when you may find very deep sales and discounts there.   If you have time to stop by, it is always worth it.   Last year they had large stuffed Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Jasmine dolls on sale for $5 each!

Girls favorite items at the Disney Store can range from sleepwear to princess costumes and accessories.   Gracing every wall from ceiling to floor you will find elegant and stunning Ariel and Belle costumes with every stuffed animal and accessory imaginable like wands, tiaras and dress up shoes.   Prices range from $20 to $50 and it is really nice that they have different sizes to fit girls 2T all the way up to 8.   Of course, there’s always the princess dishes and other clothing like t-shirts and shorts.

Many times boys like Mickey Mouse or Cars.   Whether it’s swimming trunks, model cars, or die cast vehicles, your little boy could go crazy in this fun toy store!  Some little boys like to go in and try on the fun costumes for Halloween or just for every day dress up play.  Mickey swim trunks, sunglasses, and matching beach towels are also fun and inexpensive if you find them directly after a season is over.

Don’t leave out the adults!  Many adults like to go to this store in the mall to find adult costumes, accessories, DVD’s and fun collectibles.

Of course, before your family’s next trip to Disney Land, stock up at the Disney Store before you go because once you get there, the prices are astronomical, but it is so fun to dress up as your favorite character like the princesses or Mickey Mouse.   Kmart sometimes has princess and Disney t-shirts and clothes for less expensice prices than the D. Store itself.

As an alternative to the Disney Store costumes, try Little Adventures dresses.   They are a little more simple, but they are machine washable and come in bigger sizes all the way from 2T to adult.   With a fullness slip, they are the perfect dress to pack in the Disneyland suitcase!
