Christmas Cruise on Carnival?

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

hi. im going on a 7 day cruise this christmas with my family. We are leaving from Tampa on the Carnival Legend Dec. 20. We are going to the western caribbean.
Im traveling with my parents, 4 siblings, 3 aunts, 4 uncles, 7 cousins, grandma and grandpa.
The kids ages are:
Parker- 19, Cooper- 17, Jocelyn- 16, Me- 14, Madison- 13, Aiden- 12, Blake- 10, Adalaide- 8, Hunter- 7, Savanna- 6, Maya- 5, Jordan- 2.

were going to Busch Gardens the day before. Is that fun? do they have a lot of roller coasters or is it like a zoo?

None of us have been on a cruise before, so I have some questions.
1. What activities do they have for the kids on and off the ship? Are the kid/teen clubs worth it or should we skip it?
2. What holiday activities do they have going on?
3. Im from NY and don’t know the temp down there. Should I dress for hot or cold weather? how much should I pack?
4. Is the food good? And do I have to pay money for any food outside of the main eating times?
5. What happens if I, or someone in my family, gets sea sick?
6. Is it possible to fall of the cruise? Were in a balcony room.
7. I heard you shouldn’t drink the water in Mexico because you can get sick. I don’t want to get dehydrated, so how do I go about drinking water that day?
8. Do they have any cell phone and internet access on the cruise? Should I bring my cell phone and/or laptop, or just leave it at home?
9. What services is not free? What services are free?
10. What can I not bring on a ship? (iPods, camera, laptops, cologne, toothpaste, etc…)
11. I read there is a basketball court onboard. DO I have to bring my own equipment to play?
12. Are carnival cruises fun and worth the money? What entertainment do they have? What time does everything close up for the night?
13. What are some cruising tips I should know about?

Sorry its so long- im just curious.

Thanks,
Trent Riley!

Carnival Dream Christmas Cruise- Teen Club?

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

I’m going on a week-long cruise on the Carnival Dream on during the week of Christmas this year. I’m 16, and I have been on 9 cruises, but never a Christmas cruise. I love cruises, and I LOVE the teen club! Every cruise I go on, I meet so many incredible friends. However, I am particularly worried about this cruise, 1) because it is during the Christmas week and 2) because the ship is so big and has so much to do that I’m worried no one will come to the teen club. What do you think?
To nick A: Yes, I absolutely do keep in touch. I went on a cruise over a year ago and two of the girls are my BEST friends, even though we live in different countries. I keep in touch with everyone very well, and even have visited a few of them :)

going on a carnival cruise during christmas time?

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Were having a Family get-together on the Carnival Legend for christmas this year.
We have a total of 5 rooms. (10 adults, and 9 kids).
I will be flying in on Saturday morning and going to Busch Gardens later that day with my 3 kids (ages 9, 10, and 14)

My questions are:
1) what should we pack for the trip?
2) what should we bring on the plane? I heard theres not much room in the cabins, and I dont want things just sitting around not being used the whole week.
3) I heard the cabins are small, but exactly how small are they? were staying in a balcony room.
4) what christmas activities do they do? how are the kids groups/teen clubs?
5) is Busch Gardens worth the money or should we just find something else to do?
6) what will the temperature be like?
7) Were all bring one or two presents for each person (especially the kids) to open up christmas morning. I dont want my kids to see them, any advice on how to bring it on the ship and hide it?

Sorry for all the questions– im a first-time cruiser!

Carnival Christmas Cruise?

Monday, September 21st, 2009

hi. my dad already booked for us to go on the Carnival Liberty for Christmas. its a 7-day cruise. Ive never been on a cruise before, so I have a few questions. . .
were only going to do one excursion, and spending the rest of the time relaxing and shopping.
which one do you think we should do?
- parasailing
- submarine
- zipline
and has anyone been to the kid/teen room? my brother, cousin and I will be in the teen room (16, 17, 17). and my sister, and younger cousin will be in the kid room (10 and 12) does anyone know what they do there?
and also, what do they do on tthe ship to celebrate christmas? were going to be in islan rotan, or something christmas day. and what is there to do on the ship? and what should I pack? I dont want to mix-match clothes and wear them over again. I want different clothes for each day, but I was wondering if I should pack for hot/warm/cold weather?
sorry for all the questions. Thanks!
